Sunset over St John’s

Yesterday the weather was really good, so Katurah and I decided to meet up after her rehearsals to do an evening photo session at St John’s College. We had about half an hour before the sun would set, so we went straight up on the Cripps building which had a beautiful view of the college and the surrounding city. After the sun had set the darkness drove us inside, and we did a series of photos in Katurah’s room.

“The question still remains whether a truth which is also beauty,
or a beauty which is also truth, can be found by man.”

– A.C. Bradley: Keats’ Letters

There are many little places to sit and study for your exams.

“The notion  that existence should be the same as understanding strikes as cold and ghost-like as the dreariest materialism”
— F.H. Bradley: Principles of Logic

Notes on the Art of Poetry
by Dylan Thomas

I could never have dreamt that there were such goings-on
in the world between the covers of books,
such sandstorms and ice blasts of words,,,
such staggering peace, such enormous laughter,
such and so many blinding bright lights,, ,
splashing all over the pages
in a million bits and pieces
all of which were words, words, words,
and each of which were alive forever
in its own delight and glory and oddity and light.

One of my favourite photos from the evening, I like the light and the depth in the photo.

More rooftops.

This photo reminds me of a scene from Star Wars, where Luke Skywalker watches the two setting moons on Tattoine.

Backlit smoke looks so amazing.

Many thanks to Katurah, this was a really fun photo session! I had never been up on the Cripps building before, what a great view! We are already talking about making another photo session. Stay tuned!
