Earlier this week I met up with Lee Brummer, Jennifer Wallén and Anoushka Jago who were rehearsing their new piece “Making sense” at Balettakademien. Lee’s new piece is produced by ilDance. It is about loss of memory, and memory of loss in different forms. The dancers ask each other questions, and their reply is movement and sometimes stillness.
It was really fun and inspiring to see their process. One of the best things about photographing an early rehearsal rather than a dress rehearsal is that you can move around much more freely and frame the photos. Here the story is as much about the process as it is about the result.
