Midsummer in Småland

In Sweden we take our Midsummer celebrations seriously. This year I travelled down to Småland to spend Midsummer with my brother Jonathan and his family. I took the train after work on Thursday evening, and stayed until Sunday evening. It was great fun to see them all again, here is a selection of photos from the days.

Their two cats have together six kittens, so the house was invaded by little fluffy monsters chasing flies and play-fighting with each other.

My oldest niece is now turning 10. Crazy how quickly time goes. One of her birthday presents was a new fashionable hairstyle.

This photo of the youngest one is taken by her big sister. It is fun that they have an interest in photography as well.

In one corner there was a fish pond, yellow plastic ducks the kids got to use a fishing rod equipped with a magnet to fish out of the water. Their reward: a bag of candy.

“Björnen sover, björnen sover i sitt lugna bo. Han är inte farlig, bara man är varlig, men man kan dock, men man kan dock honom aldrig tro.” With a roar the kids got up and chased down their parents.

They have a trampoline in the garden, and there just happened to be a broom leaning against the fence. Well, we put two and two together, and this happened.

It was a great weekend, as always, many thanks to Jonathan, Sandra, my three nieces and the family friends I met.
