Highlights of 2024

The year 2024 has come to an end and it is time to look back and remember some of the fun highlights. I had the opportunity to photograph with a lot of talented dancers, and we created some unique photos together.

I have mostly been photographing with natural light, or constant light sources, but this year I bought two new studio flashes and set up a studio background in the kitchen. Previously when I was photographing in the Green Room I would spend some time in photoshop cleaning things up and trying to make it look like a studio, now when I have a studio space I instead try to add character back into the blank background, and I have found newfound appreciation for the character of the Green Room.

Alice Öhman on the ice. We wanted some heavier shoes for this picture, so she borrowed mine, while I was standing in my socks on a jacket.
Johannes Tenstam wearing jewellery by Johanna Björnson. Details are important, and having some great accessories can make a photo pop.
Ahtayaw Ea wearing jewellery by Johanna Björnson
Arianna Hall with some dried orchid flowers that had been laying around waiting for the perfect moment to shine.
Victor Lans at Konstakademien in Stockholm. It was really fun to photograph an improvised dance performance in this art gallery.
Signe Åman using my old mirror frame. I like how she placed the shadow from the frame over her eyes.
Emelie Boll, the hand was a nice touch in this photo.
Ellen Johansson. Sometimes you just get lucky and the birds align up perfectly with the spacing of the hands.
Nora Sofie Smedbakken Hov on a rainy day. We decided to open the window for a short while to get the framing.
Margherita Pascariello in her amazing fur coat.
Mille Skov and her impossible arms, amazing.
Emma Oldin Lazaroff with all her old diaries.
Julia Victoria Gianetti on a windy day at Amager Strand in København.
Birta Ósk Þórólfsdóttir. and Elina Juslin. I am really happy with this framing and their matching coloured jackets.
Sara Blomqvist causally buttoning her shirt.
Sara Blomqvist with her new swan friends that graced us with their presence.
Maja Dahlbäck momentarily creating a blue creature in the air.
Madalena Judas, amazing day in the archipelago.
Ahtayaw Ea loves the quirky and different poses.
Hugo Skala just hanging around in the old forest.
Elida Jondal Thorsen. We had a really windy day in the reeds.
Joakim Pham raided the BA storage room and put this together.
Michelle Holmström and Amanda Anagrius Rydberg. Again, really happy with how the composition turned out here.
Tilda Lundmark and Felicia Taube Eliasson. Back in the archipelago creating dynamic poses.
Margherita Pascariello. I am always really happy when we manage to incorporate birds into the composition.
Linn Asplund. The textures of the fields together with the pose!
Emelie Boll in a dress by Maria Haugen Lund. It was an amazing day trip to Kullaberg with some of my favourite people to collaborate with.
Isabella Khanamidi. A misty and rainy day, but it worked perfectly with the mood of the photos and poses.
Theodor Adolfsson in a suit in the middle of the water. What more do you need?
Elea Standal at Dansmuseet in Stockholm. This was a really fun collaboration with the museum.
Sofia Boström at my favourite place, Kråkudden.
Susanna Carreño Primera and Alexander Mockrish. Two amazingly talented dancers.
Rebecca Gusdal, climbing giants, litterally.
Andrea Helander Kramešová. I really like her pose and the stillness of the water.
Sofia Löfdahl, frames within frames.
Stella Santunione. Some of my favourite photoshoots are when we get to play around in amazing locations.
Alfred Molander, the light was just perfect here.
Mille Skov. I do not know how she manages to create interesting poses like this.
Elida Thorsen. It is all about the right foot.
Arianna Hall. Two things to create interest in a photo, twisting the body, and hiding some parts of the dancer.
Felicia Taube Eliasson in the Green Room.
Pauline Berg Lerstad. I like photos that make you stop and wonder, how?
William Jögi making shapes with the distortion of the 20mm lens.
Saga Jansson and Siri Persson. Candid photos often have more life than the posed photos.
Nora Olsen, amazing evening with the setting sun at Brunnsviken. We did not have a lot of time, so we climbed up on the rocks to get the last evening light from the sun.
Maria Avatare. There are a couple of old hooks in the kitchen ceiling that we decided to use.
Maija Mustonen Björkman
Elise Rosnes
Moa Nilsson
Ellen Kastensson, Livia Skarp and Valentina Schwentner. Sometimes the lines just line up so perfectly.
Livia Skarp creating interesting shapes with her hands.
Ellen Kastensson
Lucia Tagliabue, long exposures and powerful poses make for great photos.

Agathe Bøkestad Hokke, love the movement here.
Antonio Careri and Ines Maria Ștefănescu
Paulina Rosenqvist
Dina Amalie Andøl Borge
Sean Ge with his sun feathers. An amazing end to a great year of photos.

This concludes the eleventh year of my photo blog project. Here you can find the highlights from previous years.

If you edit your own photos in Photoshop then take a moment to read about AdobeRGB colour space and 8-bit jpeg. It was an important lesson I learned, that you do not always want the biggest colour space if you save an image as 8-bit instead of 16-bit.
