This morning the blog passed 100,000 views and what better way to celebrate that than with one of Cambridge’s best May Balls. Yesterday was St John’s May Ball, which simply put is a very grand affair.
I photographed Trinity with a 50 mm lens, and focused mostly on people, this time I wanted to capture a bit more of the scenery, so opted for my 35 mm lens which would allow me a wider view. I also decided to leave the flash at home, which made me really hunt for available light sources, but I wanted as little gear with me as possible this time. During the first part of the ball I hardly took any photos but around 1.30 am I bumped into Megan Thorpe and Caroline Sautter who I know from the ADC Theatre, which resulted in some great photos. After that it snowballed. Here are the photos from the evening.
