April Morning

My Cambridge visit started with a couple of morning photoshoots. One of them was with Kaiti Soultana. We wandered the streets before lunch in search for some good locations. When shooting portraits during the strong sun it is usually a good idea to find some shaded areas to avoid sharp shadows.

Trinity Lane has some beautiful stone walls that we used for backdrop.
Here I am looking for a scene within the scene, to try and create a bit of depth and to capture not just a portrait but the moment.
Playing around with the editing here, making the photo monochrome.
In front of one of the back doors outside Gonville and Caius College. The doorway provides a bit of shadow from the side.
Senate House Passage
Kaiti stepping out of one of the red phone boxes at Market Square. Only one of them is still in operation. Here we were waiting for something interesting to happen in the background. There were some people walking by but in the end I preferred Kaiti’s expression in this photo.
Outside a bridal shop on Sussex Street. I overexposed the reflection in the window, which gave the photo a dreamy look.
I used to always want my models to look into the camera, but there are times when that is not necessary.
Day dreaming
We experimented with a lot of different locations, here a flight of stairs on Sussex Street. Kaiti’s outfit fits perfectly into the colour pallet of the surrounding.
On our way to Jesus Green, stopping by the brick wall on Jesus Lane.
Katie Holmes?
Walking down the alley on Jesus Green.

You do not need much to take interesting photos. It was great fun to do another photoshoot with Kaiti. I am really happy with how the photos turned out.

We have done a few more photoshoots together. For example the Disney shoot was a really fun one to do.
