This Sunday Emilia Fridholm and I did a photoshoot in Näsbypark. We have been photographing together since 2018, and it is fun to see how our work develops over the years. Our photo-sessions are both creative and inspiring, and Emilia brings a lot of positive energy to the photoshoot. She is heading to Germany in May to work in Pforzheim, but hopefully she will be back in Stockholm from time to time. The first photoshoot we did was a morning photoshoot, and the sky was filled with glorious red and orange colours with Kaknästornet in the background. This time we had scheduled an afternoon shoot to allow the sun to reach into the Green Room. Below is a glimpse from our photoshoot, in the second half we were experimenting with motion blur in the photos to capture the movement.
I wonder what my life would be without dance. It’s impossible to imagine. My goals, my dreams, my wishes – all deeply connected to the love I feel for movement and being in motion. Johannes asked me where I am at with my dancing at the moment. I thought about it, and even though my answer is different now to when I answered him during our shoot, and probably will be changed by tomorrow morning again, I feel willing to share where I am at today. What constantly drives me forward, intrigues me to choose dance day after day, is my endless curiosity for the unknown. What will happen if I continue. Continue. And continue. Movement, for sure. Change, for sure. But other than that, I don’t have a clue. Yet. I travel via movement to loose myself, and then I travel to find myself. I travel to open up my heart, my body and my senses to learn more about the world than no newspaper will ever accommodate. I travel to become a young fool again, to stumble and fall, to rise up and fly. To fall in love time after time.

Thank you for reading this and for taking your time to scroll through these photos. Thank you Johannes for your generosity and openness behind the camera, and for an inspiring afternoon together! Feeling extremely lucky to have my art as a space of peace, freedom and love. Can not take that for granted in the world that we are currently living in.
A few weeks before our photoshoot I had randomly bought a steel mannequin that was on sale at the local Red Cross. I was actually on my way to the flower shop to buy some hortensia for another photoshoot. It was quite funny walking into the flower shop carrying the mannequin in one hand, but the other customer got inspired and had lots of creative suggestions for how to use it when I mentioned that I was planning on using it for photography.
We also experimented with exposure times to capture a sense of motion in the still picture. Too long and you get a blur, too short and you just freeze the motion with a slight feeling of it being not completely sharp. One thing we aimed for was to keep something in the blurry picture sharp, to anchor the viewer in the frame and get a point of focus. But, getting that sharp detail in the picture is easier said than done.
Many thanks to Emilia for a fun photoshoot!
