A minute to twelve

Things that we see as permanent, like the houses around us, only appear to be permanent on the timescale of a single human. It is fascinating to visit places with a history, and wonder what has been there before. There is a famous analogy that if the earth has existed for 24 hours, then humankind only appeared about a minute to twelve. On a geological timescale we are a mere blip.

This past Sunday Alma Faringer Hultberg and I headed out to photograph among some derelict buildings. Here is a glimpse from our photoshoot.
