Ars longa, vita brevis

Yesterday Sakari Alonso Romero Tuurala and Ella Örneborg came out to Näsbypark for a dance photoshoot. Sakari, or Sacke, recently graduated from the Royal Swedish Ballet School, and now both he and Ella study at House of Shapes.

The blog post title is Latin and basically means “Life is brief, but art lasts forever”.

It was not a particularly warm morning, but we decided to do the first few photos outdoors. Sacke was lucky and the sun briefly peeked through the cloud cover. We also had a bit of wind breathing life into the reeds in the background. For the second part we went inside and photographed in the Green Room, which was a bit warmer.

Time to head indoors. I had asked Ella and Sacke to see if they had some fun props to bring along, and Sacke’s mom had given him a white rose for the photoshoot which he incorporated into some great poses.

We ended the photoshoot with a short session where both Sacke and Ella were in front of the camera together.
