Manon Forssell Pyk studied at the Royal School of Ballet, and then at the European School of Ballet before joining the Johan Inger Youth Project in Spain. She was in Stockholm for the summer, so we met up for a dance photoshoot at Tranebergsbron.
Dance has always been my way of expression. I like dance because of how direct it is, being present and communicating with one another in that moment and then it never exists the same again. I feel inspired by the sea, the forest, the city, people, by hard work and creative environments.

We decided to head back to the Green Room in Näsbypark for the next set of photos. Manon had brought with her a brown dress that worked really well with the green walls.
I salvaged some broken tree branches last winter after one of the more intense storms and kept them on my terrace with the plan to use them for some photos. When I checked on them during the spring there were lots of little insects crawling on them so I did not end up using them, instead the needles slowly turned brown over the summer. Luckily for us I had not yet thrown them away, which was great, as the branches complemented Manon’s dress beautifully. Looking at these photos now I am really happy that I did not end up using the branches during the spring, because then I probably would have thrown them away after the shoot.
I forgot to mention that we stopped by the local Red Cross store on the way, and found three wooden frames that I purchased. The biggest one of them also got to make an appearance in our photoshoot.
We also experimented with some of my old glass lenses that I had laying around. I was holding up the lens in front of the camera lens in the photo below.
Next we headed out to Kråkudden to do a set of photos in the water. I brought with me the 200 mm f/2 lens, which worked amazing paired with the Nikon Z8. This was the first time I did a dance photoshoot outdoors with the Z8. I bought it not long ago, and had only been using it in the Green Room so far. It did a pretty good job at keeping Manon sharp in the frame.
We did a last set of photos in the Green Room before sitting down to sort through all the photos.
Many thanks to Manon for a really fun photoshoot!
