This past Saturday Ahtayaw Ea and Johannes Tenstam came out to Näsbypark for a photoshoot. We experimented both with different lenses and longer exposure times to capture motion and mood. The blog post title refers to the Japanese concept of Yügen, which encapsulates a deep, mysterious sense of beauty that goes beyond the superficial or obvious. Yūgen suggests an appreciation for the profound grace that lies in the subtleties, the nuances that evoke a sense of the sublime, often evoking feelings that cannot be easily put into words. It’s about the hidden beauty that can only be felt with the heart, not just seen with the eyes, and often involves a sense of the natural world’s profound, ephemeral beauty.
Ahtayaw and Johannes studied together at Balettakademien and graduated a few years ago.
For the second part of the photoshoot we were joined by Johanna Björnson and her husband. She brought with her some of the jewellery for Ahtayaw and Johannes to wear. Her jewellery is inspired by her life as a dancer, working with different shapes and forms. She is working on a webpage and I will share the link here when it is available.”
Many thanks to Ahtayaw, Johannes, Johanna and Gordon for a fun photoshoot!
