Dreaming of Spring

This past Saturday Matilda Fredriksson and Vira from Stockholms Konstnärliga Högskola came out to Näsbypark for a dance photoshoot. We have had a period of snow and cold, but the days are slowly becoming longer. Everyone is waiting for spring to arrive. We had the idea to include some flowers in the photoshoot, and Vira and Matilda found some beautiful blue hortensia in Täby Centrum that they brought along.

Vira has this amazing long hair that she could shape into these abstract creatures. To me this looks a bit like the Ents in Lord of the Rings.

How happy is the blameless vestal’s lot!
The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!
Each pray’r accepted, and each wish resign’d

Vira. Capturing the hair in motion. Matilda is just out of frame to the right, having thrown the hair up in the air.
Vira the Ent. The long nails add to the mood of the photo.
Matilda Fredriksson. Here again we played with the tilt-shift lens.
Vira. Birds and dead flowers, everyone is waiting for spring.

Vira. This was shot with a tilt-shift lens, to play with the depth of field of the image.
Vira. Turns out eyelash glue and tejp is a pretty good way to fasten flowers on the face.
