Maria Avatare and Samuel Hillby joined me for a second photoshoot in Näsbypark. This time the theme was paper, and Maria had brought a big stack of newspapers that her father had collected. We started with a few photos just reading or holding a newspaper, but soon things became more creative, and slightly more chaotic as we shredded the papers and filled the floor in my kitchen with them.
Hello, Maria Avatare here again! So what have changed since last time a wrote one of these introductions? I am still 19 years old, live in Stockholm and of course I’m still dancing(: My desire to become a professional dancer is still going strong and my journey towards my goals and desires continues. After all, dance is one of the most consistent things in my life and a place I love to visit over and over again.

This past Friday Samuel and I had planned a second shoot with Johannes, which we really looked forward to do! The day before we picked out some outfits, experimented with potential dance poses and of course we brought a lot of snacks to keep out energy level high during the long shooting day. We even brought an Easter egg filled with salt liquorice as a gift for Johannes! After all it is only Easter once a year. I had also collected a ton of newspaper from my dad, so we could use it as a prop during the shoot!
We had a really fun and inspiring day. My favourite part of the shoot must have been when we filled Johannes kitchen with all of the torn newspaper. Then came the part where we had to clean up the mess, and I hope we haven’t left too many trails of papers in Johannes kitchen (sorry Johannes).
Finally I just wanted to thank both Samuel and Johannes! They all contributed to create a safe and inspiring space for us to create and flourish. I can not wait until the next time.
After cleaning up the papers from the floor in the kitchen we did a few last photos in the Green Room.
I feel very lucky to be able to be part of these kinds of photoshoots where creativity, photography and dance all meet and create magic! I continue to grow as a dancer and feel very blessed to be able to express my passion through occasions such as these!
